HPV Vaccines

HPV vaccines are administered to prevent precancerous lesions and cervical cancer before cervical cancer. Although there is no curative HPV vaccine yet, women can get rid of the risk of cancer by activating their immune systems without being infected with HPV or immediately after being infected with the PROTECTIVE HPV vaccines.

Gardasil

Dangerous types of HPV virus that can turn into cervical cancer, namely HPV 16, HPV 18, HPV 6 and HPV 11 etc. Gardasil vaccine containing particles; It has the feature of preventing both warts in the external genital area, precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. The Gardasil vaccine, which has been applied in Turkey since 2007, is also known as the quadruple vaccine. For the Gardasil vaccine to be permanent, the first vaccine should be repeated at 2 and 6 months. The effect of the vaccine becomes permanent after the third dose is completed. The effect of the vaccine can be enhanced by intramuscular injection.

CERVARIX

Cervarix vaccine containing particles from HPV type 16 and HPV type 18 viruses is administered to prevent cervical cancer precancerous lesions and cervical cancer formation. After the first dose of Cervarix vaccine, which can be administered from adolescence, the others should be repeated 1 and 6 months later. Unlike Garnasil, Cervarix, which has no protective feature against genital warts, is injected into the muscle tissue.

Importance of HPV Vaccines

HPV virus can be the trigger of many diseases in women;

cervical cancer,
Vaginal and vulvar cancers,
Genital warts can occur due to the HPV virus. The HPV vaccines developed for the HPV virus, which threatens the health of women and can cause physiological as well as psychological problems in case of genital wart formation, are FDA approved.

HPV Vaccines Application

HPV vaccines, which are usually made between the ages of 11 and 12; It can also be applied from 9 to 26 years old. People in adolescence can be vaccinated against HPV within 6 months and 12 months. Three doses of vaccine may be required for those who have had their first vaccine after the age of 15.
